A mum has made a desperate appeal for her missing son to come home for Christmas.
Joshua Brown, 15, was last seen on Thursday morning at around 8.15am but was acting “out of character”, his mum Samantha Brown said.
Josh, from Walkden, Salford, usually says ‘goodbye’ and ‘love you, mum’ when he leaves the house.
But instead he told his mum that she “didn’t need to know” where he was going and left the family home on Horseley Avenue in Walkden.
Later Josh text his mum and gave her a bogus name and address of a friend’s house he was going to stay at before his phone battery cut out.
Josh was last seen leaving home at 8.15am on Thursday, December 21
Samantha is desperate for Josh to get in touch
Samantha says she is ‘going out of her mind’ with worry and wants him to get in touch.
She told the Mirror Online: “We’ve had no positive news so far, his phone is off and he hasn’t been active on any social media accounts.
“We fear that he has gone cross country. I’m going out of my mind, this is very out of character for him.”
Issuing a heartfelt plea to her son, she said: “If you’re reading this, I just want to say to you that you are not in any trouble, Josh.
“I want to know you’re safe and I want you home for Christmas. I just want you home safe, where you belong.
“Please come home or let us know you are safe.”
The family had all planned a big get-together on Christmas Day, but all Samantha can think about is her son.
“For Christmas all the family were meant to be going to my sister’s, which is her first one in her new home.
The teenager has been missing for four days
“We were doing a big family Christmas this year. It would be the best present ever if he was home for it,” Samantha said.
Samantha says she worries that Josh has gone to meet someone, possibly in another UK city.
“I have a feeling that he has gone to meet someone but that could anyone and anywhere, we have no idea,” she said.
She also thanked his school UTC@Media City for all of their support in the search for Josh.
Josh is described as white, about 5ft10 and slim and was last seen wearing all black.
An appeal shared by Greater Manchester Police has been shared over 3,000 times.
It said: “Joshua is 15 years old and was last seen around 7.50am on Thursday 21st December leaving his home address in the Walkden area.
“His mother is worried about him as it is out of character and normally he would remain in contact and tell her where he was going.
“Joshua is described as white around 5ft 10, with short mousey blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and black trainers and was carrying a man-bag with him.”
If anyone sees Joshua or knows where he is please call police on 101 quoting log number 2213 of 21/12/17 or reference MP/15/0092401.
